UpTake, formerly Kango.com, aims to be the Google of travel. The certainly have the opportunity if they do it right. At the recent TravelCom conference in Chicago, it was reported that buying travel online has become MORE complicated in the last few years, not LESS complicated. People still visit on average 22 different sites before booking their travel. If they can reduce the need for consumers to visit so many sites, they may just have a winner.
Travel is the biggest e-commerce category with $96 billion spent globally on business and leisure travels booked online in 2007But there are other companies out there competing for their share of that market like tripwolf.
